The update mechanism in the old program was completely separate from Windows
Update. It should still work as well as it ever did--I've verified this on
a Windows 2000 install--I had Microsoft Antispyware, installed WIndows
Defender, updated, scanned, then uninstalled Windows Defender and reinstall
Microsoft Antispyware, and updated it. It all worked.
