Check the above article. It involves editing the registry, which you may not feel able to do safely.
Since this probably keeps you from installing security related patches, you may be eligible for free support from Microsoft:
1-866 pcsafety in the U.S. or Canada.
Elsewhere, call the nearest number for paid support from Microsoft and ask for the free support for security issues, virus infections, or problems with security patches.
