You can see whether the job is present in the Windows Scheduler, at least,
on XP:
control panel, maintenance, scheduled tasks, advanced, show hidden jobs.
Look for a job running mpcmdrun.exe
you can also run mpcmdrun.exe yourself--the syntax is given if you run it
with no parameters.
Is the windows scheduler disabled?
