Defender beta 2 vs original MS Antispyware (1)

After reading all the horror stories re defender beta 2 relative to NAV,
Quicken, IE, etc, all of which I run, I am skittish about installing it. For
now I will stay with the original MS Antispyware which seems to work fine.

Does anyone know if MS is still making new definitions available for the
"original" antispyware when either it or I seek an update? Or have they just
abandoned it in favor of the new version?
