Hello!

While installing Windows Defender Beta 2 on one of our company PC's, I've
got following error:

"Setup cannot install this software because the copy of Windows you are
running?cannot be validated. To get?help? with this problem go? to the
windows Genuine Advantage Website."

That computer is running legally obtained activated OEM copy of Windows.
Does anyone have any idea on what might be happening?

Thanks, MS

We don't have much in the way of resources to help with Genuine Advantage
validation issues.

You might try going here:

http://www.microsoft.com/Genuine/def...displaylang=en

on the problematic machine and seeing whether any additional troubleshooting
steps are offered.

I've certainly run this software on a variety of machines, including at
least one on which I installed an OEM version of XP myself, without issue.

Hi there,
You can go to the following url and click the validate now button.
Your copy of Windows must also be authenticated or registered in order for
Windows Defender B2 to install.

http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/dow...displaylang=en

Hope this help!
