Defender and Zone Alarm Conflict

Since upgrading to Defender, EVERY TIME Windows (XP) is started I have to
maually authorize Internet Access to appls in the Zone Alarm (Pro) firewall.
(My security suite is C.A. EZ Armor).

I have uninstalled Defender and when Windows is restarted I no longer get
the "changed program" notices from Zone Alarm or have to reauthorize
applications each time.
