Defender does not block or remove cookies. To control cookies in Internet
Explorer open Tools>Internet Options>Privacy>Advanced. Select "Override
automatic cookie handling", Accept first party cookies,Block third party
cookies, select "Always allow session cookies".

Defender doesn't do cookies. Actually, I find it doesn't do much else
either.

I have turned it off and use SpySweeper instead.

what detriment can be caused by persistent, and third-party, cookies? how
would a hacker accomplish the malevolence? isn't it conceivable that a
persistent or third-party cookie is necessary for some sites (or else they
will not load)?

Jim,

i appreciate that this query does not belong here, but i don't even know
enough about this to post in the right spot. consider
http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.a...tno=391&pgno=1
this site, and all of its links require an incessant "refreshing." it seems
to be an excellent educational site but if a few of these windows are
simultaneously opened, the refreshing will cause ie7 to crash. what is this
"refreshing," and what can be done to stop it?thanks.
