In my Defender Allow list there are no entries. My understanding is that any
program, registry change, etc. that I "allow" from the Defender notification
should appear in the allow list. As I have no entries I can't modify allow
actions.

If the above is correct then can you let me know how to overcome this problem.

the info in the "about defender" is
Windows Defender Version: 1.1.1051.0
Engine Version: 1.1.1481.0
Signature Version: 1.14.1515.17

Thanks HM

I have the same problem as HM. But I'm running

Defender version 1.1.1347.0
Engine version 1.1.1481.0
Definition Version 1.14.1518.10

When I allow a program to run it doesn't show in the allow section of the
tools page. Every time I boot up my computer my ISP program starts and
windows defender notices it and I have to allow it. Also, when I log off from
the internet the program ISP program restarts so the icon is in the tray and
I have to allow it each time in defender can you help.

I think you may have to work at excluding it from the scan, as an interim
measure. Tools, Options, scroll down to Advanced options, and fill the box,
hit the add button. And Save.

Ok it is ignoring it now. But it still doesn't show in the allow section of
the tools window. Is this a flaw in the program, or am I doing something
wrong? Mircosoft wants to know what programs we chose to allow to run or
quarantine or disable through windows defender. But if I can't get it to show
there how will they know?
