When I first used my HP scanner I plugged it in USB and
windows installed it and everything. And I used the
windows imaging software to scan. But later when I
downloaded the HP drivers and software for it, thinking
that it would be better, it was some crapy software and
windows was much better. But when I uninstalled the
scanner and software and tried plugging it back in for
windows to automatically install it, but it didn't. It
kept on asking for the location of the HP drivers, and I
don't know where the windows drivers are, I tried the
WinXP Pro CD but it didn't find anything. So know I don't
know how to get my scanner installed with the windows
drivers and for it to use the default windows imaging
software. Can anyone please help????

If all else fails, try using system restore to
reconfigure your system to a point before you did your
upgrades for your scanner. Any other updates or programs
you have installed since that date, will have to be
redone.
