How can I change the default view in my Save As/Open dialogs? I always
comes up in 'List' view and I prefer 'Details'.

TIA,
David

[[Do you find yourself constantly changing to details view, then resizing
the columns to see the full file name? File-Ex can do this automatically. ]]

File-Ex File Dialog Extensions
http://www.cottonwoodsw.com/fx3summ.html

Set Detail View for all Folders Open/Save As
(This was found @ http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm #85)

Or this one.

[[View:
Here you can choose how you will view the list of files & folders in the
Open/Save dialog boxes. You may choose one of the Windows standard view
settings. ]]

Eh? No, simply set the View in the Open/Save As, and then hold Ctrl
button and click on the X to close the dialog box. That view will be saved.

This seems to work with the MS Office Suite only. It doesn't seem to
extend to IE 6 or Photoshop so it's not OS-wide.

Sorry but OpenWide doesn't appear to change anything other than its own
test dialog.

OS: Windows XP Home SP1a

Thanks,
David

Yes it seems they don't like to play. Usually its the "Office" folks
asking. Sorry.

Make sure that all applications are closed when you set the Open Wide options. Leave Open Widw running in the Notification area. Now open your applications and access the Open or Save As dialog boxes.
