default view in calendar and default language in emails

I work with Microsoft Outlook 2003 and I have 2 questions please:

I regularly use a calendar set on our network (i.e. not mine) that I can
amend/create/delete appointments etc.. without probs. I always need to see
this calendar as a month view and not day. Every single time I swap from one
week to the other it automatically goes back to day viewing. How can the
default view be set for "monthy viewing" rather than day viewing please ???

Also, every time I type an email, the US dictionary kicks in regarless how
many time I have set, from within an email, the default language as UK. Can
this be changed anywhere else please?? it is driving me around the bend!.
