default value for field help

Hi
I have a form which populates a memo field.
In the form I can add html table code and it displayes them when I call the
recordset. They are entered into the database within p tags.
What I am trying to do is have the value for the default value for the
field as a table but when I add the table html code into the default value
for the field I get an invalid syntax error .I have tied to put " at the
begining and end but it does not work
