Is there a way to disable Windows XP logon from
remembering the user name of the last logon? I know this
is possible in XP Professional but am having a difficult
time setting it in XP Home.

Ive tried clearing the defautusername and alt
defaultusername keys in the following location. It work
for one logon then resest back to knowing the last
logon...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS NT\WINLOGON

To clarify - the feature in WinXPpro Im trying to emulate
in WinXPHome is: "Interactive logon:do not display last
user name" in the security setting/local policies. I know
WinXP home does not have Local Security Settings in
Administrative tools so Im looking for an alternate
method of configuring this.

I think you need to establish a group policy for it .
