Try adding this String Value to this part of the registry:
START > RUN > regedit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\URLSearchHooks:
Name Type
Data
[ab](Default) REG_SZ
(value not set)
[ab]{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} REG_SZ
To add the missing entry -
After navigating to and opening URLSearchHooks -
In the right hand pane (the value pane) -
Right click in a blank area -
Hover on "New" and then click on "String value" -
Type in exactly {CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} and click OK -
(Now should look as above)
Close Registry Editor
Restart
Test search from IE6 Address Bar
