Is there a way to change the default sound folder. For instance, I add
music to my mail quite often, In Outlook Express, Open new message, then go
to Format, Background, Sound and it opens Windows Media folder with many
sounds I can never use.. Is there a way to change the default sound folder
to G:\Music\Midis? I know I would have to do this in the registry.. but
would need step by step please so I don't mess up.. Thanks so much!

Windows XP Home, SP3

You could try using TweakUI to change entries on your Places Bar (under
Common Dialogs) to include G:\Music\Midis; that only adds one extra click.

I just did as you suggested.. but what do you mean one extra click? I
don't see it listed, I still have to browse to it... do I have to reboot
before it takes? hugs Rainy

Glad you did & thanks for reporting back. The "one extra click" part was
that while clicking on Browse would still take you to the same place, just
one further click would get you to your Midis folder. Sort of a workaround,
but glad it's good enough.

Steady with the hugs, I barely know you.... :-)
