I am trying to get my home network working again 1 Win XP Pro computer as ICS
Gateway, 1 Win XP Pro and 2 W2k machines that need network and internet
acess, 2 nics in xp gateway (1 connected to dsl modem, 1 for ICS). and 1 8
port netgear switch.. Somehow, someway I have managed to make certain network
services become unusable. The Application Layer Gateway Service, ICS, RPC
Locator, TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper are all set to Automatic but I cannot start
them, When I try to start those services I get an "Error #5 Access Denied"
message. ( Could not start the Application Layer Gateway Service service on
local computer Error %:Access Denied)I had gotten paranoid because I was
seeing anonymous logins and i think I removed some groups that should have
access to certain things so, I would like to know is there a list of default
User Rights Assignments out there and how do I fix those services to have
access again.
