I've successfully followed the help instructions to move the default
Outlook.pst file containing my POP3 account to "Email Post Office" folder in
"Documents" for ease of data backups but Outlook insists on creating a
Outl(email)@hotmail.com-0000.....pst file in it's default directory that is
not movable using the described procedure - (the change folder button is not
available for http accounts!??!). Is there a way to move the hotmail.pst
file to the same D: folder as the POP3, or even better, have both email
accounts contained in the same Outlook.pst file?

No and no.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

After furious head scratching, JSW asked:

Just to add a little information, iirc, there isn't actually a need to
backup the HTTP account's pst because it is simply a copy of the data stored
in hotmail itself and not a unique storage location.

In other words, the data is at Hotmail. The pst on your machine is simply a
locally cached copy.

If there is mail in your hotmail mailbox that you'd like to store locally,
copy it to your pst. However, replying to that mail in the PST might get a
little wierd. Honestly, I'm not even sure what would happen. Heck, to be
honest, I didn't actually even test to make sure you could copy out of the
hotmail service into a local pst. I'm sorta assuming there. =o
