Does anyone know if there is a way of setting a default protocol in XP? I
need to run NetBEUI as default.

To use NetBEUI as the protocol for File and Printer Sharing, go to
Network Connections | Advanced | Advanced Settings and un-check the
bindings boxes for all other protocols.
