When I go to My Documents and double click on the icon for a PowerPoint
presentation I created earlier, Corel presentations opens and opens my
PowerPoint presentation in it. What is want to happen is I want Microsoft
Office PowerPoint to open my presentation when I double click the icon in My
Documents. The only way I can accomplish that is to open up PowerPoint, Click
Open, navigate to My Documents, and then double click the icon.

The easiest way to reassign file-type associations for single file types
(presentations in your case) at a time is:

Right-click on a PowerPoint file in your My Document > Open With > Choose
Program... > pick PowerPoint from the list and check the box to Always use
this program to open this type of file > OK

Cheers
