Hello,
I have Server 2003 running as a print server with 2 printers on it.
Users have either a 2000 or XP client and they are all using Office
XP. The default printer is set the same for everyone - printer #1.
Here my scenario:
When a 2000 user opens Word they can print to printer #1 by hitting
the print icon. They can also change the printer by going to File/
print and selecting printer #2. From then on as long as they don't
close Word, whenever they hit the print icon in Word the job will be
sent to printer #2. When the user closes out of Word and reopens it
the default printer will be printer #1. That's normal behavior,
right?
Now if a XP user repeats the same process, when they re-open Word
their default printer will be printer #2. Is this a change between
2000 and XP or do I have to change a setting somewhere. How can I get
the XP clients to behave like the 2000 clients, so that when they re-
open Word they don't have to go to File/print to change back to their
default printer.
Thanks for any help/insight.
Mike
