Default order of files in folder

Recently when I'm in an application and want to place or
open a file, when I point to the folder, all of the file
names are listed, seemingly, in order of recent usage.
They used to be listed alphabetically.

How can I set the default back to listing all files in a
folder alphabetically when I view them through an
application?

This is driving me nuts as I can't figure it out.

Any help to my sanity would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom

Click on the View Menu button (right end of the tool bar), and select
Details. Now click on the Name column heading. That will arrance the
entries by name. Then if you don't want the details view, click the View
Menu button and select another option.

Gary

I have used this before but it doesn't change the default.
Once I leave folder and come back, the order is back to
latest viewed.

I really need to figure our how to set the default folder
view.

Thanks,

Tom

Yeah, I tried it and you're right. The default doesn't get changed when
you do that. I have no idea what might do it.

Have you tried setting the view options the way that you want them, then
click Tools->Folder Options->View->Uncheck "Remember each folder's view
settings"->Apply->Apply to all folders?

Based on what you have stated, it seems that this process has not been
tried.
