How to by default open messages in Edit mode?

How do I via a Registry edit, Outlook user interface selection, or some other technique to force Outlook to automatically open messages in the edit mode? The intent is to avoid the need to have to manually select Edit Message via a mouse action or keyboard shortcut after the message is open?
