Default "Internet format" for Autocomplete addresses in NK2 file

I am suffering from the winmail.dat problem and my recipients keep
complaining received no attachment from me. I know this is caused by Outlook
sending the email using "Outlook Rich Text Format".
I know I can go to the "Mail format" tab and set HTML or Plain Text as
default. And I know I can go to individual contact and select "Let Outlook
decide the best sending format" under "Internet Format".
But what about the addresses in the Autocomplete list? I have lot of (not
all) addresses in the Autocomplete list which have the default "Internet
Format" set to "Send using Outlook Rich Text Format" (I dunno why). I can
change it back to "Let Outlook decide the best sending format" by double
clicking the address in the To: field, but that change is not permanent. And
I found no where I can permanently change the settings.
This is greatly annoying me. Please help.

Why not just clear your cache?

Clear the cache then I will lost all those Autocomplete entries, right?
I love the Autocomplete function but I do need to know if there are any ways
to change the "Internet format". Otherwise it will keep causing the
winmail.dat problem.
If it cannot be solved, I may have to disable the Autocomplete function
completely ......

Just wondering why you love the feature if it isn't providing you with the
correct information. That's why clearing the cache seems reasonable. You'll
rebuild it soon enough.
There is no native way to edit the NK2 file. You can ask the folks at
Ingressor to see if they can verify that sending format is even stored in
the NK2 file and if so how to edit it.
