Default incoming messages in HTML

About one half of my incoming messages are suddenly being received in Plain
Text format, and I must "Edit Message"/ "Change format" to HTML to read them.
Why did this start to happen? Didn't Outlook automatically convert them to
HTML? Or, why can't I read them in Plain Text? It is annoying to change
format so often now.
Is there a default setting I can set up?
Thanks for your help, in advance.

Are you scanning the mail with an antivirus or antispam scanner? either can
cause issues like this.

I have the exact same problem after installing Outlook 2007. I am using AVG
virus protection and the problem exists even if I stop AVG.

How did Stuts manually Edit Message"/ "Change format" to HTML?
