I just installed SP2 on an otherwise current XP Home install. Now when I try
to view images, they come up in my photo editor rather than the windows image
viewer which I prefer.

On my administrator account, which I don't run with except to be an
administrator, I can change the viewer for the file types under control
panel->folder options. When I try to do this with my non-admin account which
I generally work with, the buttons to change the viewer are blanked out. The
change which I made under admin apparently don't apply to my non-admin
account. Please help.

TIA

Hi jsayre,

There are several options. Easiest way is to use the Open-with option.

How to change file associations in Windows XP:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=307859

HOW TO: Specify the Program Used to Open Certain Types of Files in Windows
XP:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306551

Other sites/tools: (altering the file associations requires admin
privileges)

Repair image file type associations in Windows XP:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/imgassofix.htm

File association fixes:
