Default font changed after converting mail from Rich Text to RTF

In Outlook 2003, I set the default mail format as RTF and default font type
as Arial when creating, replying or forwarding email.

When I reply/forward a plain text mail, plain text style remains and I
change mail format to RTF, but the default font is not Arial.

Please advise where else I can specify the default font.

Thanks a lot.

the defaults only apply to new mail in that format, not conversions to the
format. You'll need to select the text and change the font yourself.

Thanks Diane, I found that different PCs had different font types after
conversion. So just wonder is there anywhere will affect the default font?

You can change the default font for plain text so it matches the RTF
default - tools, options, mail format, stationery.
