Default fields for all mailboxes

I'm trying to change the default view on multiple mailbox folders so
that it shows the "From" field, hides the "To" field, and sorts by
date received instead of by attachment. I can do this on a folder-by-
folder basis, but that's an obnoxioulsy time-consumming task. Is
there a way to specify what the default configuration of fields is?
Is there a way to set the fields in multiple folders at once?

Thanks.

My set-up is:
Outlook 2007 from Office 2007 on XP Pro SP2 reading from an Exchange
Server

Don't change the View template of the folder but of the mailbox instead;
View-> Current View-> Define Views-> Messages-> Edit...

Note that it will only affect folders that are still in the default Messages
view. To reset all views on all folders start Outlook with the /cleanviews
switch
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /cleanviews
