What is default Ethernet frame format

Hi all, Does anuone know the default Ethernet frame format for
Win2000...Ethernet(V2) or IEEE802.3???..or is it both till it interprets
type/length field value? So far I just havn't been able to lock in which it
is...Thanks for any help.
