Default Directory and File Permissions

Where can I find a document or any info on
the default Dir.and File permissions.
(Fresh install of windows 2000 and 2003)
-Example: service account permissions, administrator permissions etc.per
folder/file?
I am testing security on my server and need to know what defaults
permissions
exists. Also anything on registry permissions as well.

I appreciate that you're studying for tests and what not, and that is why
you're posting all these questions. I hope you do well on your exams. One
thing that they will not teach you in your classes, though, is how to earn a
bad reputation in the "online community." One way is by not reading the
manual. Another way is by not using Google. A third way is by crossposting
questions to many groups (not that 4 is really many, but you run the risk of
being accused when you go above 1 group). I am merely telling you these
things. I am not "scolding" you or whatever!

Documents are good but you should also keep a default installation handy to compare
to. Using the Security Configuration and Analysis tool against templates such as
setupsecurity.inf is another good way to check how settings differ. The links below
should help with the last two listing specific recommendations on how to improve
security on a W2K/XP Pro/2003 computer.. --- Steve
