Typically nothing messes with the default shares, C$, D$,
etc. on machines. They are shared for "administrator
purposes". On several machines, a new sharename was
added effectively changing the hidden behavior of the
volume as well as the user profiles. When users log on
their profile is not accessible and a blank desktop
results. The new sharenames appear to be "Boot" for C:
and "Data" for D:. Permissions are set for Domain Admin
only, probably explaining the profile access issue.
Anyone ever heard of any program, virus, policy, etc.
that creates a new name for admin shares? This one is
extremely puzzling???
Thanks.
