Debuging with a dialup connection

I am trying to debug an app that creates a dialup connection using RAS and
then calls a file transfer client. This client uses TCP to communicate to
it's server through the dialup connection. By design, it is NOT using the IP
connection available through the cradle.

However, while debugging ( with the device in the cradle) as soon as the
modem connects, the debugger disconnects. Is there any way to work around
this? Everything behaves well with the device in the cradle but not being
debugged.
