What extension is it?
If you are familiar with Regedit, you can remove the incorrect
association and it will probably disappear from File Types
The key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.xxx (where .xxx is the extension) is the
key in question.
Exporting a key to a registration file before deleting is a good idea.
