In the process of trying to install an Apple iPod related program, an error
messege came up. I went to the Apple site and tried each and every trouble
shooting solution they had. All of them worked except one.
One of the tips involved configuring the DCOM security access settings. I
followed the steps but the program seems to have a glitch.
I accessed the DCOM main window. Then double clicked 'Component Services'
then 'Computers' and as soon as I clicked 'Computers' the DCOM program shut
itself down. It never showed any error messege or other pop-up. I checked the
System Error Log and here is what it said:
A condition has occurred that indicates this COM+ application is in an
unstable state or is not functioning correctly. Assertion Failure:

has caused the process to terminate. Error Code = 0x8000ffff : Catastrophic

Personally I don't really understand what that says.
I even tried a System Restore and it wouldn't let me complete it. I am out
of ideas. Is there any way to re-install or repair the DCOM program? Or is
there another way to fix this problem? Though I admit I'm not even certain
what the problem is.
Any help would be very very very appreciated!!
