DCOM error 10009 when printing

I have 3 computers on a home network. Computer A has a laser printer.
Computer B has an inkjet printer (HP officejet 6110). Both B and C can print
to the laser printer. Computer C can print to the inkjet printer.

When A adds the inkjet printer, it can print but a continuous series of DCOM
10009 errors is generated and the printing appears to be slowed by timeouts.

Network file sharing works fine on all 3 computers.

I assume that computer A has a problem with DCOM configuration or registry
issue. How do I get enough information to troubleshoot this problem?

Some of the HP components are not registered properly, try here:

The document you referenced seems to deal with DCOM error 10006 not 10009.
The 10009 error suggests that my computer is unable to communicate with the
remote computer with the attached printer.

It won't hurt anything to run the commands and register the components,
these components are known to cause both of these DCOM errors.

I did as you suggested. Now I have a different problem. When HP Port
Resolver was started as a service, the DCOM 10009 errors stopped. Now the HP
Port Resolver is running as a service and slowly gobbling up handles. The
handle count increases by a few every 30 seconds. If I disable the service,
I now get DCOM 10005 errors instead of 10009. I don't understand why this
service needs to run constantly.

I don't know how to undo the "hpbpro -service" command either.

Next suggestion, please.
