"DCOM Config" is empty !!!

Anyone have any idea what would cause the "DCOM Config" node in Component
Services to be empty.

This is an XP SP2 machine. With a LOT of experimentation to debug DCOM
applications. ugh. And I must have broke something.

Everything on the machine seems to be behaving.
