Day/Time Picker

My problem: to allow the user of the website to select any part or parts
of day over a whole 7 day week. A day will be split into 24 hour parts
or 48 ½ hour parts.

My approach was inspired by Active Directory user login hours selection
which looks something like this:

My current approach is using a table 7x24 each with an Image button
,OnClick I change the colour of the Image Button to show selected if
unselected and vis-versa. I’m starting to consider that this may be
very inefficient(and would get worse with half hour or 15 minute
intervals)with so many components and images being handled at the server
end on the postback.

I have been unable to find any components that have this ability
already.
Is there a better way to achieve the same thing.

Using asp.net 2.0 and ms.ajax libraries.
