Dates in tasks

I use Office extensively. Live & breath by it. Love it
all, but wish I could use word as my editor in tasks as
well. Main reasons: formatting functions and because I
have so many progressive entries under each tasks (dates
and times that I did things) I would love to be able to
automatically insert Date/time. I have thought of every
possibility I know. Tried to do a macro but can't get it
to work once I go to tasks. Please tell me there is a way
to automatically insert date/time in a task. I don't mean
in the fields that are supplied for it but in the body.
