Dates of e-mail Copies

My boss swears that he used to be able to make a copy of a e-mail after the
date it was received and the copy would retain the date that the e-mail was
received. Now when he makes a copy of a e-mail he received a few days before
the copy has the today's date. Does anyone know how to make it so that
copied e-mails retain their received date?

Are you looking at the modified date field in Outlook? The received field
should always have the actual date it was received.

If you mean a copy in windows file system, the date used seems to depends on
how long ago the message arrived.

I'm/he's looking at the Received Date column in Outlook's Inbox. For
example, TODAY If you highlight a e-mail from YESTERDAY, do a Control C then
a Control V it puts a copy of the e-mail in the Inbox but it will have
today's date as the date recived. My boss swears that it used to appear
with, to use the example above, yesterday's date in the Received Date of the
Inbox.

I can't repro it here - I get a copy with the exact same date as the
original. Try resetting the view - it may be corrupt and using the modified
field instead of received.

Which view would you suggest he use? His cubemate is also having the same
problem. They both swear that the date did not change previously. We
recently had a "Q3" update. Included was a MS update, but I cannot tell you
the exact details of this. We use Outlook 2003 here at BP.

Would appreciate any help you can give.
