Dates appear as serial - can't format

      5th Jun 2007
tried to render the dates as general (text)... it works, when i select
a cell I see a number in the formula bar (ex: 39156). then I tried to
reconvert them to dates using a macro, it works, the dates a created.
When i click on cell I see a date in the formula bar (ex 2003-02-12)

But the darn dates till show as serial in the spreadsheet... Help

Try
Tools|Options|View tab|uncheck formulas

THANKS GUYS!! problem solved! I knew it was something really
obvious... Maybe I will learn excel someday
