Date:none message sticks in outbox

Quite frequently when i send a message it sticks in the outbox. If I open
the outbox, the message will be listed the the "Date:None" bar. Messages
that go to the "Date:Today" section will be sent. In order to send the
message under Date:None, I have to click on the message, hit forward and when
the message opens I hit send. A copy of the message then moves to the
Date:Today section and sends out just fine. The original message remains in
the Date:None section and I have to delete it.
Any idea of what is going wrong here and why it would just be random
messages where this happens, not every message?
Using Office 2007 version of Outlook with XP. Using AVG for anti-virus
protection along with spybot and ad-aware for extra security protection.
Many Thanks for any help or ideas on how to fix this.

What happens if you just double-click the message to open it and click Send
again?

It still sits in the Date:None section and does not send.

One other thing to try: open the message, then chanbge your folder so you're
not looking at the Outbox. Try sending again. Does that work?

Nope, that doesn't work either. Why would I even have a "Date:None" section
popping up?
