I like to have this week's and last week's emails visible, and all other date
groups collapsed. But when I start Outlook, about 50% of the time it starts
with all date groups expanded. This also happens sometimes when I go to
another email folder and back again to my inbox. I find this increasingly
annoying. This "feature" was introduced in an update, I think the update
which introduced a popup display when downloading a large email. This happens
with Outlook 2007, but 2003 is fine.
On a similar note, the date groups also expand at midnight, so I have to
remember to close Outlook before midnight to prevent this. This happens with
Outlook 2003 and 2007
