Date Created, Date Modified Changed to Date CD was burned

When I use the drag and drop method of writing a CD in
Windows XP home edition, all of the attributes relating to
date are either lost or changed to the date that the CD
was burned. I would like to keep all of the original
attributes of my photos.

Is there a preference or something I should change in XP
to allow me to keep the original attributes when writing
files to a CD? Or is there another method of burning CD's
in XP that I can use besides buying another software
product?
