How do I force horizontal scrollbar to be visible on DataGrid? Even though I
have data going beyond the boundary of the control it refuses to provide a
horizontal scroll bar!

Actually, the horizontal scroll IS there, but it wa shidden by my status
bar.... I set the DataGrid to "Fill" the space so it actually filled to the
very bottom- going underneath the status bar....

how do I make it fill only up to the status bar?

It's a maddening issue in the IDE :-)

Select the DataGrid then chooese DockStyle none.
Then go to Format | Order | Bring to front.
The set the DockStyle to fill again.
