Database Results Error every couple of months

I have a database running on a subweb that mostly works well.
But every once in awhile I start getting the error below.
I don't understand why this just starts happening for no apparent
reason. The items in the error log don't seem to apply since the
database has been working fine.
I can fix it by re-publishing the web but it starts again after
several weeks.
I've looked at the event logs on the server but don't see anything
that seems to apply.
If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear.
Running Windows 2000 Server

Thanks

Database Results Error
The database connection named 'TechnicianLog' is undefined.

This problem can occur if:
* the connection has been removed from the web
* the file 'global.asa' is missing or contains errors
* the root folder does not have Scripting permissions enabled
* the web is not marked as an Application Root

You may be able to fix the problem by opening the remote web/subweb
(on the Win2000 server), then use Tools->Web or Site Settings -
Database tag, then Verify the database connection. This should save
having to publish the site.

I have yet to experience a database connection being broken, except
when the Server has had major updates, like a new Service Pack.

Thanks Ron - I did as you suggested, the database seemed to verify ok
but the problem is still there.
I haven't installed any updates lately.
Guess I'll re-publish and keep a close watch to see if I can find what
is happening when it stops working.
