Database problem when upgrading FP

Hi all

I have 7 different .asp pages created in Frontpage 2002. Each .asp page
contains a form which is linked to its own Access database (7 in all).
Everything has gone smoothly so far - FP 2002 created the databases, the
customers have input their data, I have later transferred the information
from the website to a local database. NO PROBLEMS!
However, I wasn't quite happy with 2002 so I upgraded to FP 2003 - of course
a fully legal and activated copy. Now I can neither create nor update a
database!
Error messages include:

a. Cannot open "wpauwn3.mdb": no such file or folder (where wpauwn3.mdb is a
random filename with no relaion to my filename)
b. No server currently in use
c. Couldn't open database-Exception: 'C:\Documents and Settings ... ' is not
a valid path.

I have installed the full package, as well as the most recent upgrades, and
am at my wits end! No help from Google or Microsoft knowledgebase.

Regards

Ivar Petur

Export the database our of your FP web to your desktop first, then open in Access.

Hello Thomas

Thank you for the quick response. However, that's not my problem - I have no
trouble at all transferring the data from the web to my computer.
The problem is in FP 2003 when creating/changing the underlying databases:

Right click on form, select Form properties, Send to database, Options,
Connections. I can use the connections created in FP 2002, and they are
verified in FP 2003, BUT Create database and Update database result in the
beforementioned error messages.
This functioned properly in FP 2002!

Check your DB connections in Tools Site Settings Database
- If all 7 are there verify them
- If not there, delete them where they are and use File Import to import your mdb files
(name them as you have named them before and allow FP to put them in the fpdb folder)

PS
If you upgrade from one version of FP to another
The best way to keep your web intact and functioning is to
Open the Online web in FP and Publish (all pages) from local (your online site) to remote (your PC based location)
- always required to synchronize the 2 webs and the FP meta data

Hi Stefan and thank you for the interest.

Still no go - all existing database connections verify OK. Synchronizing
doesnt change anything, and neither does the 'reverse' publishing.
When I create a new web, a new .asp webpage with new form, in FP 2002
clicking on the 'Create database' button did that and also created the
connection. FP 2003 only gives the error message: Cannot open ... (see a.
below)
