Hi
Using Access 2000 on network with datafields merging into Word 2000
documents. Intermittent fault saying 'The database needs to be repaired or
isn't a database file. You or another user may have unexpectedly quit
Microsoft Access while a Microsoft Access database was open. Do you want
Mircrosoft Access to attempt to repair the database?'

This is happenening when user is entering data into database with no other
user in the system therefore no one unexpectantly quiting.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi
Thanks for replying.
It doesnt matter which option button i click on which is displayed after the
error message (Yes or NO button option) i can do nothing, then have to close
down the database resulting in not being able to access the database at all.

Try downloading JetComp.exe from Microsoft
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;273956

if that doesn't help try starting the db with a command line switch
/DECOMPILE
ie
<PathToMsaccess>MsAccess.exe <PathToDatabase>Database.mdb /DECOMPILE

If still no luck create new db & import what you can from the corrupt db.
