Ok so when i was creating the Date on a table Access encountered a problem
and shut down improperly and now that it did that the file were i Stored the
original file has another named after the file with Backup at the end of it i
was wondering if i can go ahead and delete that file and not have any
problems?

If you're VERY VERY lucky, have been feeding stray kittens, have a guardian
angel on your shoulder, and have accumulated a pile of good karma... maybe.

Seriously, any time you have a crash and it makes a backup, it's doing so
because there is good reason to believe that there may be a problem with the
database. Check it out THOROUGHLY before you delete the backup. See
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm for a thorough discussion of
database corruption.

You should also maintain good, TESTED, current backups of all your databases.
The only databases that don't need to be backed up are those that you're
willing to rebuild from scratch at a moment's notice.

Absolutely! The backup rule is like the "floss your teeth" rule --- you
only need floss the teeth you want to keep!
