I looks as though from reading a few threads that what I am trying to
accomplish isn't normally done, so I am trying to confirm that here.

I have a simple single page site, which has two frames.....the top frame has
summary info in rows in a 5 cell(rows) by 10 cell (column) table. If a
visitor wants more detail on one of the items,..... say the first row item, a
hyperlink brings a more detailed table up into the lower frame. That all
works fine.

What I was wondering is, rather than me having to update the info in the top
table, AND the info in the bottom table, can the info for both be updated
from a single point? either a single spreadsheet or database page? It seems
that the database uses in FP are for data going the other way.

Mike

Try this: http://www.spiderwebwoman.com/tutorials/picklist.htm with
picklist.asp in the top frame and detail.asp in the bottom frame.

Sorry, the link didn't work, it said page not found. But your description
sounds like a page which works like mine...........mine works fine though, it
was a simpler data entry that I am looking for. If your link addressed that
question of mine, let me apologize up front.

Thanks Kathleen, But I think that is a little over my head, I guess I was
right in the beginning, it isn't an "easy task". I thought that I may have
been overlooking something as in a "simple way", like the way that you can
link data from one spreadsheet to another spreadsheet, so that I could enter
data into fields or cells on one page, and have it update the data fields or
cells on two other pages automatically.
