Hi guys

I'm look for a program to manipulate, plot and fit data. Any suggestions?

It would be great if it could:
- manipulate data like in a spreadsheet
- plot data with error bars i x and y
- plot expressions (f(x)=...)
- fit data to an arbitrary expression, or a wide selection of expressions
- export to various formats including eps and png

I've worked with EasyPlot (which is good and easy) and Origin Pro (which is
all you want), but am now look for a freeware solution.

TIA,
Frank

Most programs I know do some, but not all things you required. Maybe
you just have a look at their homepages and decide for yourself which
you load for further testing:

R:
http://www.r-project.org
Gnuplot:
http://www.gnuplot.info
Grace:
http://plasma-gate.weizmann.ac.il/Grace
Euler:
http://mathsrv.ku-eichstaett.de/MGF/...rothmann/euler
Serf/XL-Plot
http://www.bram.org/serf/serf.php
http://www.bram.org/xlplot/xlplot.php
Scilab:
http://www.scilab.org
ViSta:
http://forrest.psych.unc.edu/researc.../abstract.html
WinFit/XFit/MultiFit:
http://www.mf.mpg.de/en/abteilungen/...intro_en.shtml
Grapher:
http://students.washington.edu/bellc...r/features.php

I hope, I didn't miss an important one. (It's a bit late here at the
moment.) You may also try Open Office if the spreadsheet-like data
manipulation is especially important to you...

Hope, this list helps at least a bit.

Looks god, but I can't find the official homepage. Is it discontinued, or
what?

It went commercial. These are the latest freeware beta releases that I
archived.

What is freeware here?

Their ethics are a short summary of police ordinances: for them the
most important thing is to be a useful member of the state, and to air
their opinions in the club of an evening; they have never felt the
homesickness for something unknown and far away, nor the depths which
consists in being nothing at all. ___________Soren Kierkegaard

The OP asked about the official homepage. The program was freeware,
but it went commercial.
