'The data is not valid' audio installation error

Hi. I just took out my Videologic SonicFury sound card to
test other components due to a problem I had which is now
fixed.

However when I put the card back in it tried to reinstall,
and gets to the 'Multimeda Audio Controller' installation,
installs, but then says 'There was a problem with your
hardware. Data not valid' as the reason for installation
not completing..........

I've tried another sound card and same result....No sound!
Definately not the card.. help!
